Background

Dr. Salim AbiEzzi was an independent technology consultant for 7 years. Prior to that he has 20 years corporate experience in R&D: 9 at Microsoft, 6 at Sun Microsystems, and 5 at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). Salim led teams at Microsoft, Sun, and RPI in developing 3D graphics, multimedia, and networking technologies and products.

Salim has an extensive experience with standards committees starting in 1984 as a member of the ANSI 3D graphics committee. He was the founding chairperson of the UPnP Forum in October 1999, and chaired its steering committee for four years while growing it to a successful international consortium. He has a broad network of contacts at Microsoft, Silicon Valley,  and internationally.

Salim delivered numerous technical presentations in industry conferences including WinHEC, PDC, Siggraph, and Eurographics. He is an author of nineteen technical publications--including three award winners, and an inventor of ten patents.

Salim earned his PhD and MS in computer science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1989 and 1984, respectively. He received a BS, Summa Cum Laude, in computer science from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell  in 1982 at age 19.
